What I Have/Had Been To Part 2

I just started this blog and I’m already way behind. I’ve got many reasons or excuses as to why I haven’t been updating. I’m trying to work in a schedule for myself. I’m trying to fix things regarding my schedule with work and education. It’s all a big mess. Hopefully beginning next week I can start blogging consistently.

So here’s what you’ve all missed:

Oh this lovely gem was when I went to San Francisco with my best friend. It was almost her birthday so I treated her to a trip to the city, some fun at the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum, and dinner at The Rainforest Cafe.

Oh what a beautiful day this was taken on! I remember it quite clearly. June 6, 2015. My one true love and one true club, FC Barcelona were in the UEFA Champions League final against Juventus FC. We beat them 3-1. It was wonderful. I was so happy. It was just everything and it meant everything to me because football (soccer) is my favorite sport and FC Barcelona is more than a club.

I’m a regular church goer. I try to go as much as I can with my family. I’m so busy nowadays it’s just nice to have a reserved day with my loved ones.

Oh look at that. There’s my belly! I’m currently working on losing it. I would like to not have to suck in my belly all the time. Obviously during this one I decided not to.

The one time I tried to take a photo of my outfit in my backyard this happens. I should have known. My dog is probably thinking, “Friend Alexa, what are you doing just standing there? Don’t you want to pet me? Or better yet, GIVE ME FOOD.”

What I Have/Had Been Up To Part1

Uncategorized

I wanted to apologize about not updating for so long. Life got in the way. I had to find new work, I had to work out things with my family and friends, and I honestly forgot about this site.

I don’t particularly have a set style. I know people who stick to clothes from say Forever 21, or wear predominately black things, or only thrift for their clothes. I know some people who always follow what’s in. I’m more of a mix. I do my fair share of shopping at stores like Forever 21, Target, Macy’s, Nordstrom, etc. I love to thrift. I like finding what would be expensive at department stores at thrift shops because at thrift shops their half or even 75 percent cheaper.

I don’t dress for anyone. I dressed for someone once and it didn’t work out. It just messed with my head. I dress purely for myself. I like seeing what I believe I look good in.

I document my outfits. There are many reasons. 1: I have this fear of forgetting the things I like and love. 2: I don’t particularly like to repeat outfits. 3: I have a lot of clothes so I want to know that I’ve worn something at least twice.
I’ve made a plan to update every evening. So here it goes. This is going to be one long post. I’ve got a lot of outfits to show you all.

I’m a big fan of this app Photo Mirror. When I post on my Instagram, I usually use Photo Mirror. I use that with an addition of Afterlight. I try to avoid using Photo Mirror for every photo and I don’t particularly like using filters for my outfit of the day pictures.

A’gaci : shoes || Forever 21 : crop top sweater & skirt || Salvation Army Thrift Shop : purse || Payless : knee high socks       Back in May, I went to watch U2 in concert. This was the first night. I was sitting up in the rafters. It wasn’t the nosebleed seats, but it wasn’t particularly close either. I had a side view of the band. All in all it was a wonderful night.

These photos I decided to test my iPhone timer. I figured it was time to start learning how to do that because I don’t always have people around me to take my photos. I don’t have the guts nor the trust to ask strangers to help a girl out.

I was never one who liked wearing pink, but I think I’m warming up to it. I think.

Macy’s : skirt || Salvation Army Thrift Shop tank top || Target purse || Ross boots

This is perhaps one of my favorite outfits, one of my favorite backgrounds, and one of my favorite poses. I’m not good with poses. I’m still trying to find the right one. The struggle for me is finding the pose that is flattering to me and my body type.

On this particular day, I was in a rush to get ready. If I knew it would have been sunny in San Francisco I would have worn a nice sun dress.

I went to a break dancer event. It was so cool. They were all so impressive. It really made me wish I was fit, had rhythm, and could dance.

Thanks and God bless!

And so it begins

blog, fashion, food, personal, travel

The purpose of this blog is to show the world the adventures, the food, and the fashion of one woman from the Bay Area.

I was inspired to start documenting my outfits when I realized that I have so many different sets of clothing in my closet. The amount clothing and shoes I possess has reached an incredible number. I figured the only way I can feasibly justify the excess of my addiction was to create as many outfits and wear these outfits and document these outfits.

I’ve followed a lot of fashion blogs on Instagram. Every woman I follow is absolutely gorgeous. But I had a problem. I didn’t feel represented. The majority of the popular blogs regarding fashion and travel consisted of people with pale skin, a skinny frame, and a prominent femininity. I was searching for more color, for more stomachs, for more uneven curves.
I admire all the blogs I follow. I really do. I know I’m training to reach that healthy status where I don’t have love handles, a big belly, and where I’ll have muscles.

I just wish my skin color was seen as beautiful too. I wish people would look at someone who sometimes slouches, who has a belly, and what-not and thinks they are just as beautiful as the slender woman with pale skin, the POC woman with the curves, the tall model, or the woman blessed with the ass and the chest.

People who haven’t reached that physical form are beautiful too. Cellulite, colored skin, body rolls, love handles, birthmarks, freckles, slouches, etc are beautiful too.

I have been bitten by the travel bug. There’s nothing I want more than to travel to new places and experience new things. I want to see the landmarks, I want to climb the mountains, I want to eat the local food, etc. There’s a world out there. There’s a world out there for you and for me. It’s waiting for us.

So here’s a blog for my fashion, my travels, and my food. I’m not the average fashionista (whatever that is), my beauty isn’t what’s popular, and I don’t necessarily have the funds to accomplish the travel and food adventures that I’d like to have. But I’m safe in my own skin. That’s what matters.

The above picture was taken on a Sunday before I went off for church. I’m a big fan of floral prints. I’ve got quite a collection of clothes with floral stuff on it, and a big collection of boots as well.
